"An important part of Norwegian culture is the wooden huts in the middle of nature. During my semester abroad, I spent a lot of time in these huts with my new-found Norwegian friends. From there we went on hikes, played cards in the evenings and sang together in English and Norwegian to guitar music by the stove. We particularly liked the hut where the photo was taken because of the brilliant view of the lake."](/fileadmin/_processed_/b/0/csm_Norwegisch_Titelbild_6a54e850b2.webp)

Norwegian
Velkommen til faget norsk!
"Norway" means "northern way" or "way leading to the north." The close relationship between Norwegian and German is reflected in their similar vocabulary and word order. Norwegian grammar is straightforward, like Norwegians' informal approach to life, which is exemplified by the motto: "Det ordner seg!" ("It'll be alright!")
