"The photo was taken on Jeju Island in South Korea. As an exchange student at KAIST in 2022, I was lucky enough to experience this breathtaking scenery. My interest in Korean language and culture started from listening to Korean music. I am grateful that this interest became big enough to motivate me to learn Korean and step out of my comfort zone by spending a semester abroad. My time in South Korea allowed me to make many new friends, taste authentic Korean food and make many unforgettable memories."

환영합니다!
Korean is spoken by about 80 million people worldwide. The unique Korean writing system, Hangul, consists of 24 letters. Hangul was developed on the order of King Sejong in 1443, and it is easily learned because of its logical and clear syllable structure. In 1997 Hangul was recognized by UNESCO as a "Memory of the World."
