The international Film Series „Diversity“ in cooperation with the HFF München, in which films are shown in the original language with German or English subtitles, allows our students to engage in conversation with people from the respective countries and cultures and discuss issues in a socio-cultural context.

Actor and theater director Yusuke Kafuku lost his wife two years ago. Although he has not yet fully come to terms with this personal blow, he agrees to stage the Chekhov play Uncle Vanya at a festival in Hiroshima. There Kafuku meets Misaki, who is assigned to him as a driver. From then on, the reserved young woman chauffeurs the artist to and from work in his red Saab 900. On their journeys together, the two reluctantly begin to confront their past and open up to each other about their lives... Based on Haruki Murakami's short story "Drive My Car".

There are many gloomy scenarios for the future, but do they help us? Australian actor and filmmaker Damon Gameau is trying a different approach. He sets out to find people who are developing solutions to ecological problems, such as energy supply, mobility or the design of inner cities. From ideas that have so far only been realized on a small scale, the documentary filmmaker forms a grand vision for a livable future world.
