Course participation

The program is open for international TUM staff, visiting scholars, postdocs and doctoral candidates. Participation is limited. Please note that you can only participate in this program if you are a member of TUM.

If you already have knowledge of German, please check your language level using our placement test or alternatively the test at https://hueber.de/menschen/einstufungstest. (It is not necessary to send your test result to the Language Center.) You can also choose a course either one level up from your most recently completed course in German, provided the course was at the TUM or based on a certificate issued according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

Course Registration

Application begins 4 weeks before the starting date and ends 1-2 weeks before the course is scheduled to begin.

Please apply for a course using our application form. Please use your TUM-ID (the letter-number combination, not the mail address!) and the password (as in TUMonline) to log in. If there are more than 25 people interested in a course, the decision will be made by lot. No more first-come, first-served process. So the time of your registration no longer counts.

Please note: FRMII staff members who do not have a TUM-mail-address please send us an email with your course request and the required confirmation letter within the registration period to sprachenzentrum@tum.de (subject: DaF for Staff).
