Offer in fall
The intensive courses are held every year in September and October and last 1 to 3 weeks. You find the program in TUMonline from July. Please note: In TUMonline, the intensive courses in September belong to the respective summer semester, whereas the intensive courses in October belong to the respective winter semester. You may have to switch the filter to another semester.
Offer in spring
The intensive courses are held every year in March. They take place in the mornings or in the evenings and will last 2 to 5 weeks. Please note: The intensive courses in spring belong to the respective winter semester. You find the exact course times in TUMonline.
Course participation and registration
Students with previous knowledge in German please determine your language level using our placement test or choose a course one level up from your most recently completed course in this language, provided the course was at the TUM, a partner university, or another European university. The placement test will help you to decide on the appropriate level for the course.
Students of the TUM:
- Registration for the intensive courses in March 2023 starts on January 9th, 2023 in TUMonline. In the English version, please look out for "intensive courses" on the second page of our offer of German courses. You find the registration period for each course in TUMonline. Check exact course times before registering.
Fixed places will be distributed approximately 2 weeks before the course starts. - If you do not attend the first class meeting, your place will be given to someone else.
- Please note that it is not possible to be excused for the first day.
Doctoral candidates, postdocs and staff of the TUM:
- Please register for our special program "DaF for Staff".
- Only if capacity is available you can get a place in our intensive courses: registration conditions.
