English Coaching Program
You can organize a small group of colleagues from your department to improve your written or spoken English with one of our coaches. The sessions are free and always tailored to your needs. Depending on the coach's availability, doctoral candidates may also book up to 10 sessions of one-to-one appointments per semester, but no more than two appointments per week.
German as a Foreign Language – "DaF for Staff"
Join one of our 8-week evening German courses designed especially for international doctoral candidates, postdocs and visiting scholars. These courses are free of charge and take place on the Munich, Garching, and Weihenstephan campuses.
Language Courses
If capacity allows, one to two places in every language course are reserved for academic staff (doctoral candidates included). Staff with student status are welcome to register via TUMonline. Otherwise please write an email to the lecturer of the course beforehand and come to the first lesson. Please note that a placement test may be required.
Writing Consulting - DE & EN
Visit the English Writing Center or German Writing Assistance to receive one-to-one consulting in your writing. You can make as many as 3 appointments per week and 12 throughout the semester. This free service is an excellent way to learn long-term writing skills while improving your thesis, articles, essays, CV, or any other text you have to write during your studies.
