Language level according to CEFR

The TUM Language Center has been part of the elaboration of the complementary descriptors „CEFR Companion Volume with New Descriptors":

CEFR Companion Volume with New Descriptors (p. 15)

The New Descriptors including Sign Languages, which is intended as a complement to the CEFR has been launched by the Education Policy Division of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg in May 2018.

ECTS-Points (Credits)

Credits are credit points awarded upon successful participation in a module (often the terms and abbreviations credit points, ECTS points, CP or ECTS credit points are also used).
The higher the student workload associated with the module, the more credits are awarded. The following applies: 1 credit ≙ 30 h student workload.

ECTS will be awarded for passed semester-accompanying academic work. The module handbook, which is available in TUMonline, tells you how many ECTS are awarded for each TUM language course.

Further information can be found in our statute.
