Intensive courses during the semester break in German as a foreign language

This program has been designed for TUM students, doctoral candidates, postdocs and staff who would like to take advantage of the semester break for learning German. The intensive courses take place in fall and spring and are free of charge.

Offer in spring 2019

The intensive courses in spring 2019 belong to the winter semester 2018/19. They will start on March 11, 2019 and will last 2 to 5 weeks.

Course participation and registration

For all levels except A1.1, it is necessary to show the result of a current placement test in moodle. Please click on "TUM-LOGIN". For this test, you need your TUM-ID (e.g. gi59hon) and your password. If you have not yet received your TUM-ID, please do the WebCAT. You are only entitled to a confirmed place in the course if you bring your placement test result to the first class.

Students of the TUM (as well as doctoral candidates and postdocs with student status in TUMonline):

  • You can register two to three weeks prior to the start of the intensive course in TUMonline. Please find out about the exact time for your selected course in TUMonline. Please note: In TUMonline, the intensive courses in September belong to the summer semester, whereas the intensive courses in October and spring belong to the winter semester. You may have to switch the filter to another semester.

Doctoral candidates, postdocs and staff of the TUM without student status in TUMonline:

  • One to two places per course are reserved for you.
  • Please register in person on the first day of class. In advance, you may send an e-mail to the teacher of your selected course and ask for a free place.
