Intensive courses during the semester break in German as a foreign language

This program has been designed for TUM students, doctoral candidates, postdocs and staff who would like to take advantage of the semester break for learning German. The intensive courses take place in fall and spring and are free of charge.

The intensive courses and trainings in September 2020 belong to the summer semester 2020, those in October 2020 belong to the winter semester 2020/21. The following courses and trainings are planned (subject to alteration).

The intensive courses in spring 2021 belong to the winter semester 2020/21. They will start at the end of February/beginning of March and will last 2 to 5 weeks.

Course participation and registration

For all levels except A1.1, it is necessary to show the result of a current placement test in moodle. You are only entitled to a confirmed place in the course if you bring your placement test result to the first class.

Students of the TUM:

  • Registration starts two to three weeks prior to the start of the intensive course in TUMonline. Please find out about the exact time in TUMonline. Please note: In TUMonline, the intensive courses in September belong to the summer semester, whereas the intensive courses in October and spring belong to the winter semester. You may have to switch the filter to another semester.
  • In TUMonline, your name will automatically be put on the waiting list.
  • Please bring the result of your placement test to the first class meeting.
  • Places in the course will be given according to the number on the waiting list to students who are present at the first class meeting.
  • Please note that it is not possible to be excused for the first day.
