The Language Center offers students, staff members and alumni of the TUM the opportunity to develop and improve their foreign language skills and expert language knowledge for academic purposes. Courses and seminars in fifteen different languages are available during the semester. The overall program contains basic, intermediate, and advanced classes. Additionally, intensive courses are provided for some languages during the semester break. The program also includes intercultural communication courses and events to enhance intercultural discourse. Independent language study can be undertaken at the Self-Study Centers in Garching and Weihenstephan.

The registration for the language courses English, French and Spanish will probably take place from april 2, 2013, the registration for the languages Arabic, Chinese, German as a foreign language, Danish, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Turkish as well as Intercultural Communication probably from april 3, 2012.
