The TUM Language Center plays a central role in the internationalization initiative of the Technical University Munich. We offer students and staff diverse opportunities to develop competence in a foreign language in addition to professional communication skills. Our program strongly emphasizes intercultural communication in the context of scientific research.

Academic Writing

Professors, students and staff can make use of our various programs to improve their writing skills in the TUM's two working languages, English and German.

Tests & Certificates

If you are planning to do a study program or internship abroad, you may have to provide proof of competence in a foreign language. At the TUM Language Center, you can take a test and receive a certificate corresponding to the level acheived.

Auditor Program for Refugees

Applicants for the program can take a test to receive certification of their level of language competence. Auditors can take courses at the TUM Language Center or join a Compact Program for German as a Foreign Language.
